OTHER Genk did not resign itself to the Referee Department's earlier ruling and immediately declared to appeal. On Tuesday, the club may plead its case before the Disciplinary Council of the Royal Belgian Football Federation, the case has also already been submitted to the BAS, Belgian Court of Arbitration for Sport.

Genk maintains that the match against RSC Anderlecht should be replayed, and does not think it is acceptable that the Referee Department should judge the phase because they protect their referees anyway.

"It belongs to an independent institution to pass judgment on this. After seeking external legal advice on the procedure, the club has decided to lodge an appeal with the Disciplinary Council for Professional Football and to also submit the case to the BAS," the Limburg club said.
