Laporta: "Anderlecht wants to join Super League"

INTERVIEWS The idea of the Super League is still alive among several top European clubs. In an interview, Barcelona president Joan Laporta named several clubs that he believes are "ready to enter a Super League right away." One of the names he mentioned was that of Anderlecht.

Apart from Anderlecht, according to Laporta, Inter Milan, Napoli, AS Roma, AC Milan, Marseille, Benfica, Sporting Lisbon, Porto, Ajax, Feyenoord, PSV, Club Brugge and every Spanish team outside of Atlético Madrid" have been won over for the Super League.

At Anderlecht, they do not want to comment on this statement. At the end of December, the club spoke out against the Super League and said it remained loyal to UEFA. "Nothing has changed compared to last time. It is not an issue at all at the moment," Anderlecht told Het Laatste Nieuws.
