Fredberg: "I believe in the title"

INTERVIEWS In a week and a half, the Champions' Playoffs will start with Anderlecht as the big hunter of leader Union. During the presentation of the calendar, Jesper Fredberg told us that he is aiming for the very highest. "Our main goal is European soccer, but we are hungry and want to achieve everything we can," he said.


"I rate the chances of winning the title highly," Fredberg said. "I have enormous confidence in the players and the staff that can become champions. My conviction is really very high."

The Anderlecht CEO thinks the betting shops give Anderlecht a 20 to 25 percent chance. "Not bad compared to last season." On the third matchday, Anderlecht will receive favorite Union at Lotto Park. "If we are still three points behind after that game, then a lot can still happen," Fredberg enthuses. "Although I have to admit that Union performed more consistently than us."

On the first matchday of the Champions' Playoffs, Anderlecht will take on Antwerp. "They are the reigning champion and the cup winner. So a great match to open. We have to be ready to start the playoffs well."
