16-year-old De Ridder also gets pro contract

TRANSFERS Anderlecht has once again signed a young player born in 2008 to a professional contract. This time it's about Alexander De Ridder. "Alexander is a midfielder to keep an eye on," said academy director Mikkel Hemmersam.


De Ridder has been playing soccer for Anderlecht since he was 9 years old. "At Neerpede he is known as a quiet boy with a great drive to learn and win," the club website reads. "This season the young midfielder was part of the core of the U16."

"Alexander has a huge winner's mentality. He combines that with a style of play that fits perfectly within Anderlecht's DNA. We are curious to see what the coming years have in store for him," Hemmersam said.
