Vertonghen close to deal with Anderlecht

TRANSFERS Jan vertonghen will normally join Anderlecht's selection during the course of the week. The newspaper Het Laatste Nieuws knows this. Vertonghen's contract expired last season but is now likely to be extended for another year. Both parties are said to be close to agreement.
 


Vertonghen is now 37 and recently announced his retirement from the national team. In club terms, the defender would like to continue at the highest level for one very last year.

Currently, Vertonghen is still on holiday. Once he returns, the official completion of the transfer will normally follow.
