INTERVIEWS Anderlecht coach Brian Riemer is optimistic about the future after seeing the performances of the young players during the summer training camp in Portugal. He believes some of them are ready to make their debut in the first team. Tristan Degreef, Lucas Monticelli, Nunzio Engwanda and Nathan De Cat have impressed and Riemer is confident of their potential.
In Jan Vertonghen's absence, Theo Leoni has stepped up to lead the way, along with Yari Verschaeren, Riemer said.
The late arrival of new players provides opportunities for others to prove themselves. The training camp in Portugal was intense and challenged the players physically. The focus is now on preparation for the first league game against Sint-Truiden. Riemer is satisfied with the progress the players have made and is looking forward to the new season.
