Simić: ‘Very happy for Vertonghen to stay’

INTERVIEWS Anderlecht presented a first summer transfer with Jan-Carlo Simić on Tuesday night. Meanwhile, the central defender introduced himself via the club's social networks.


In a first reaction, he already talked about the world-class players who started their careers at Anderlecht. Later in the evening, he spoke a bit more about himself: ‘When I heard that Jan Vertonghen had signed a new contract, I was very happy. That convinced me even more (to sign for Anderlecht, ed).'
 
Playing style
 
‘I am an aggressive defender, strong in 1-on-1 situations. On the ball, I am technically good. In addition, I am a natural leader. That's in my DNA and my character. It keeps me and my teammates alert on the pitch.'
 
Language skills
 
 ‘I am fluent in four languages: German, English, Serbian and Italian. My French is a little less, I need to practise on that. My sixth language is Spanish. I understand almost everything, but speaking it myself is a bit more difficult.'
