Anderlecht in talks with Leverkusen for Puerta

TRANSFERS Anderlecht are currently in talks with Bayer Leverkusen for Gustavo Puerta. That is what transfer journalist Sacha Tavolieri reports. Anderlecht wants to hire the 21-year-old midfielder from Colombia with an option to buy. Something Bayer is keen on.


Eighteen months ago, Leverkusen paid €2 million to bring Puerta from FC Bogota to Germany. They immediately loaned him to Nürnberg for six months. Last season Puerta stayed with Leverkusen, but in the league he did not get beyond 39 playing minutes spread over seven substitutes. In the Europa League, he did get to start twice. 

This season, Puerta wants to play more. Leverkusen realise this and are open to a loan move. A permanent transfer would only be negotiable from €8 million, according to Colombian media. The market value of Puerta, who is still under contract until 2028, is estimated at €3 million.
