Welsh defender on radar

TRANSFERS Fredberg is scouring almost the entire football world for reinforcements, according to rumours. Journalist Fabrizio Romano reports that Anderlecht would be interested in Bournemouth's 26-year-old Chris Mepham. The right-footed central defender would be allowed to leave there.


Ipswich and Torino are also keeping an eye on Mepham, with more clubs likely to follow. Anderlecht could have an advantage though as Brian Riemer knows the defender from his time at Brentford. Mepham is international with Wales and is especially strong in the duels and with the head.
