Official: Jørgensen to Anderlecht

TRANSFERS Anderlecht have recruited an additional defender with Mathias Jørgensen. The 34-year-old Dane signed a one-season contract. ‘Mathias is a leader, is aggressive, strong in duels and strong with his head, both offensively and defensively,' said CEO Sports Jesper Fredberg.


‘With Jørgensen's arrival, we have more options in our defence to make sure everyone is fit and ready for a long season,' Fredberg said.

‘When you grow up like me in the 90s, every kid who loves football knows Anderlecht,' Jørgensen says. ‘This step is a great opportunity for me to play at a big club like Anderlecht. I try to be a leader myself, make the whole team play as a tight block and help my teammates as much as possible.'

Jørgensen, who listens to the nickname Zanka, will play with Anderlecht with jersey number 13.
