TRANSFERS Anderlecht are looking to strike heavily in the transfer market at the end of the mercato and money is needed to do so. The club is open to the departure of Anders Dreyer and Francis Amuzu. Now the names of Yari Verschaeren and Luis Vazquez have been added, writes Het Laatste Nieuws.
Note: it is certainly not the case that Verschaeren and Vazquez have to leave. But if Anderlecht wants to go heavy offensively, money is needed. The club still has to turn over every euro three times and the only transfer income this summer is that of Zeno Debast. Money that has not all come into the account immediately either; Sporting pays in instalments.
Verschaeren has been in the A-core for five years, but the expected progression has not materialised. Partly due to injuries. The number ten, who still has a two-year contract, is himself still keen to join purple and white. As for Vazquez, there is internal doubt whether he can eventually grow into the attacking leader Anderlecht desires.
