Substitute Amuzu shoots Anderlecht into Europa League

GAMES Anderlecht have qualified for the group stage of the Europa League. Against Dinamo Minsk, it had to wait a long time for redemption, but substitute Francis Amuzu provided the deliverance ten minutes before the end.


Anderlecht started the match briskly. It pushed Dinamo Minsk against their own goal and played good football. That also resulted in some chances. Dreyer kicked the bar early on and Dolberg pounced on the visiting goalkeeper. Around the half-hour mark Anderlecht took their foot off the accelerator, but on the stroke of half-time Verschaeren also kicked at the goalkeeper after a fine move.

After the break, the first chance was for the visitors, but Bakhar kicked wide. From the Anderlecht side, Dreyer and twice Verschaeren went for their chance. However, the score remained on the board, so we had to be careful. Just when Anderlecht's threat subsided, first Dreyer showed himself dangerous again and a minute later Amuzu had his moment. The winger dribbled inside and kicked low into the short corner past goalkeeper Lapoukhov.

In the closing minutes, Stroeykens also hit the Dinamo Minsk goalkeeper, who played a strong match, and Degreef was allowed to step in.
