Europa League draw

OTHER At 1pm, the draw for the revamped Europa League took place. We followed it live here. Anderlecht will play against Porto (home), Slavia Prague (away), Ferencvaros (home), Real Sociedad (away), Ludogorets (home), Viktoria Plzen (away), Hoffenheim (home) and RFS (Latvia, away). It avoids some big clubs such as Manchester United and Roma and also does not have to make distant trips to, say, Qarabag.


Anderlecht encountered two clubs from each pot and plays four away and four at home. Anderlecht itself is in pot 4 due to its poor results in Europe in recent years.

The exact calendar will be decided tomorrow.

Pot 1: Porto (home) and Slavia Prague (away)
Pot 2: Ferencvaros (home) and Real Sociedad (away)
Pot 3: Ludogorets (home) and Viktoria Plzen (away)
Pot 4: Hoffenheim (home) and RFS (away)

At Sociedad, by the way, plays Sergio Gomez who performed strongly during his season at Purple and White and then moved to Manchester City. Also at Hoffenheim, Purple White will meet an ex-player: Jacob Bruun-Larsen who was rented for half a season under Kompany.
