Edozie looks to make switch to Anderlecht

YOUTH According to Het Laatste Nieuws, Anderlecht are said to be close to a deal with Samuel Edozie, a young Englishman (21) from Southampton. Purple-white would go for a rental deal. Edozie was formed at Millwall and Manchester City. Edozie is reportedly already in Belgium, which could indicate a quick completion of the transfer. His market value is said to hover around 8 million. Edozie has Nigerian nationality as well as English.


Edozie was also selected several times for the England U20 national team. At Southampton, he featured three times this season: twice in the Premier League, accounting for 64 minutes and once in the EFL Cup where he was allowed 90 minutes. Last season, he made 32 appearances with the southern English club in the Championship (2nd division), scoring six goals. Another season earlier, he played in the Premier League (Southampton were relegated at the time) and made 17 appearances. The winger also played regularly in the various English cup tournaments.

Edozie can operate from both left and right, although the left wing seems to be his preferred position.
