Three Anderlecht icons in Pro League Hall of Fame

Ten legends of Belgian football were officially inducted into the Pro League Hall of Fame tonight. Including three players with a rich Anderlecht past: Luc Nilis, Pär Zetterberg (pictured) and Vincent Kompany.

The Hall of Fame counts from the introduction of professional football in Belgium in 1974. Ten legends are included now, at launch. Two are added every year. In recent weeks, supporters could vote for 57 candidates. The ten laureates are now known.

These are the ten legends in included in the Hall of Fame (alphabetically):

Thomas Buffel

Jan Ceulemans

Eric Gerets

Vincent Kompany

Luc Nilis

Jean-Marie Pfaff

Michel Preud'homme

Wesley Sonck

Franky Van der Elst

Pär Zetterberg

Who received how many votes was not disclosed. It did say that Kompany, Ceulemans and Preud'homme occupied the top three. Robbie Rensenbrink and Enzo Scifo fell just outside the top ten.
