With a remarkable save in the 96th minute, Colin Coosemans looked set for another clean sheet. However, N'Diaye's unfortunate deflection of a Latvian cross led to an own goal.
“ It's obviously very bitter when you consider that we're just one minute away from a first-place finish (shared with Lazio) in the Europa League,” said Colin Coosemans,
“ The Latvians adopted a very rigid, compact and organized game, but during the second half our play improved and we created opportunities to lead 0-2. However, this goal, although fortunate, leaves us with a bitter taste. Of course, we're still in contention for direct qualification, but we could have done more today. Nevertheless, 10 out of 12 is still a satisfactory intermediate performance.
Dreyer's feelings after the match were mixed: “ It's true that conceding this goal is not pleasant and we're disappointed, but it's important to remember the positive: we still have 10 points out of 12. Initially, we would have been satisfied with this result.
RFS fared better than expected. The Danish winger also noted: “ They defended well. Especially in the first half, they made it difficult for us. Despite our different patterns and running lines, we couldn't get through easily. In the second half, things improved and we created more chances. We also scored, but unfortunately the equaliser fell”.
