Sardella and Stroeykens at Belgian U21

(Yet) no selection for the Red Devils for Killian Sardella. The Anderlecht right-back, like Mario Stroeykens, has been called up for the national U21. The fact that Sardella is an important player there played a part in national coach Domenico Tedesco's choice.

This week, it became known that Sardella was in the Red Devils' broad pre-selection. Yet he did not receive a first invitation to the A-team. Joaquin Seys of Club Brugge was preferred.

Tedesco admitted that he also took the Belgian U21 into account. Those will play two barrage matches for the European Championship against the Czech Republic. That Sardella is an important player  in that team played into his decision to leave him with the U21. ‘We want our promising players to have every opportunity to qualify,' Tedesco said.
