Lemaire: 'Lukaku was the ideal pupil'

Hubert Lemaire will be present at the RSCA fanshop yesterday afternoon to sign his book “Dans les coulisses du Sporting Anderlecht.” In this book, Lemaire gives a look behind the scenes of the club, with stories about players such as Kompany and Lukaku. Lemaire particularly recalls his first meeting with Romelu Lukaku, who was still a young teenager at the time. Despite certain doubts about Lukaku, Lemaire always believed in his potential and in his willpower to succeed.

Lukaku himself is also grateful for working with Lemaire, who improved his running style and strengthened his physical fitness. At just 14 years old, Lukaku was already training with the goal of playing in the first team, and at 16 he was ready to do so. Partly thanks to Lemaire, Lukaku has been able to achieve his goals and capitalize on his talent.
