OTHER Anderlecht suffered a penalty against Porto after a foul by Tristan Degreef on Francisco Moura. But was it really a foul? Hein Vanhaezebrouck, analyst in the studio at Play, didn't think so and the rules also seem to exonerate Degreef.
The referee whistled because Degreef almost kicked his opponent in the face. But Moura did come very low with his head to head. Then didn't the Porto player start dangerous play instead of Degreef? “By dangerous play we understand any action that, when a player tries to play the ball, endangers anyone, including the player himself,” the rules of the game read.
Vanhaezebrouck is already clear in his assessment. “This is too ridiculous for words. Degreef doesn't even kick. He is clearly holding back,” he said. That the VAR intervenes he doesn't understand at all. “This is not what VAR was created for. This is not what VAR should intervene for.”
