INTERVIEWS The U23 of Sporting Anderlecht are no longer in danger of relegation after their victory against Lierse. Coach Jelle Coen indicated that this is the first time the team has managed to reach this position. “We dominated the match and the victory is therefore justified,” Coen said. He noted that Lierse applied more pressure in the second half, but that Anderlecht were lucky with a ball on the post and an effort that was just turned away on the line.
The RSCA Futures haven't lost six games in a row now. Coen stressed that, despite the constant changes in the A-selection, their impact on the U23's play is diminishing. “The players understand better and better what is expected of them in their roles. It is crucial to maintain this positive dynamic, even if there is still a lot of work to do to ensure our retention.”
The next game is scheduled for next weekend, away at Club NXT. “We will do everything we can to continue our positive flow. We want to go into the holidays with a good feeling,” Coen concluded.
