Coosemans: “We weren't consistent enough”

OTHER Goalkeeper Colin Coosemans also reacted with disappointment after last night's slip. He cited the lack of consistency as the biggest cause of the defeat, as well as the fact that Dender was able to punish Anderlecht's weak second half due to their specific qualities.


Coosemans said his team did not play regular enough soccer against Dender and too many good moments were interspersed with weak moments. “We know that Dender is a transition team that feeds on the counter and we played too much in their own cards,” the goalkeeper said.

He also saw how the second half started too sluggishly. Coosemans said Dender had not surprised them because they were well aware of their strength on counters and of the value of their stagnant phases.

“We are picking up zero on six the last few weeks and wanted to finish in beauty” Coosemans said. A big stretch to stay on track with Genk and Bruges, Coosemans knew.
