Lyon defender Adryelson on his way to Anderlecht

TRANSFERS Anderlecht has secured a first defensive reinforcement, according to French journalist Hugo Guillemet. It involves Adryelson, a 26-year-old Brazilian from Olympique Lyon. Anderlecht will rent him with a 5 million euro purchase option.


Lyon took Adryelson away from Botafogo in Brazil last January. The rest of the season he did not get beyond two very brief substitutions in the Ligue 1. He also barely made it in the beginning of this season, so he was loaned to Botafogo from Sept. 4. There he was a key player in half the matches and a substitute in the other half. On Dec. 31, the loan ended and Adryelson returned to Lyon. 

Adryelson is a right-footed central defender and should become Zanka's replacement. He was called up once for the Brazilian national team in October 2023, but he remained on the bench in the World Cup qualifier against Uruguay.
