TRANSFERS César Huerta is the first Mexican player in Anderlecht's history. Huerta was already announced just now with a video on X and now the official confirmation of the transfer by the club followed. Huerta indeed signed until 2029, as Sacha Tavolieri already announced.
Huerta comes over from Mexican club Pumas and was trained at top club Chivas. With 20 goals and 15 assists in 87 games, he boasts fine statistics as a winger. Huerta is also a Mexican international.
Presumably the player will now be given six months to settle in, given the competition on the flank at Anderlecht is high anyway, although he can also act as a backup for Dolberg. Some adjustment time will certainly be desirable, given the substantial differences between the Mexican and Belgian leagues.
Huerta himself reacted elated and proud that he could make the step to Europe at a big club like Anderlecht. Huerta also emphasized the effort Anderlecht made in bringing him to Belgium. “I hope to be able to make a difference, create chances and be decisive,” he concluded.
