GAMES Anderlecht suffered a disappointing 0-3 defeat at home against Club Bruges, exposing their inability to compete with top teams at the moment. Bruges, playing efficiently, led 0-2 by half-time thanks to two goals from Jutgla. The first came after just ten minutes when the Spaniard exploited the defensive gap between Dendoncker and Simic to score. He doubled the lead shortly before halftime, capitalizing on a fortunate rebound from a free kick that fell to his feet.

Anderlecht struggled to make an impact. They created a few chances after the 0-1, with Dreyer and Dolberg coming very close and Dendoncker heading into the side netting. However, they lacked precision as demonstrated by Rits who aimed an open opportunity over Mignolet's goal. Amuzu eventually scored but he was standing a few centimeters offside.

Bruges, on the other hand, seemed content to let Anderlecht attack sporadically, confident in their defensive solidity. Just before halftime, Anderlecht suffered another setback as Amuzu left the field, unconscious and injured with a heavy concussion.

In the second half, the situation worsened for Anderlecht. Dolberg, who picked up an ankle problem before the break, did not return, and Vazquez and Edozie replaced the injured players.

Anderlecht had more possession in the opening phase of the second half, but failed to capitalize. Vazquez's sharp-angled shot in the 64th minute was the only moment of mild danger. Also Rits failed to send Vazquez clear of the defense with a bad pass.

Nilsson eventually added the third goal in the 78th minute. Positioned smartly at the far post during a corner, he punished a defensively disorganized Anderlecht.

This defeat underlines Anderlecht's struggles against top-tier opponents, as they also recently lost to Genk, with many injuries adding to the problem. At this point, Anderlecht's focus has shifted from competing for the title to securing a spot in Play-off I.
