GAMES Anderlecht secured a 1-0 victory over Antwerp in the first leg of the Belgian Cup semi-final, continuing their strong Thursday performances. Before halftime, Anderlecht hit the post twice, and Degreef scored the decisive goal after an assist from Edozie. Coosemans made crucial saves to maintain the lead.

The game was intense but fair, with early yellow cards for Janssen, Simić, and Adryelson after a scuffle in the fourth minute. Anderlecht dominated the first quarter and created chances, with Antwerp posing a counter-threat. Degreef's goal came at the end of a well-executed move, giving Anderlecht a deserved lead.

The second half saw fewer chances, with Anderlecht losing Edozie to injury early on, impacting their attacking momentum. Degreef came close to doubling the lead, hitting the post again. Antwerp struggled to capitalize on their possession, with Janssen narrowly escaping a second yellow card for handball.

Late in the match, Janssen missed a chance due to a mistaken offside assumption, while Deman also had a final opportunity.

Anderlecht now defends their slim advantage in three weeks at Antwerp's home ground.
