Hubert: “A good game plan is essential”

INTERVIEWS David Hubert faces a challenging encounter with experienced coach José Mourinho tomorrow night. On his birthday, Hubert is hoping for a good result as the ideal present, but the task is tough at Fenerbahçe's stadium. “A perfect birthday present? That depends on our result against Fenerbahçe and the ability to top it in the return,” Hubert echoed.

“This qualifier will be decided over two games, so we have to get a good starting position” Hubert said at a press conference.

The coach has great respect for Mourinho, who has won almost all European prizes with several teams. “I appreciate this kind of coach with a strong personality who does everything to win. But tomorrow he is just an opponent like any other,” Hubert added.

For Hubert, it is crucial to adopt a compact style of play without becoming defensive. “We have to exploit the opportunities to attack. It's not about having five defenders and five attackers. A good game plan is essential. The atmosphere will be intense, but that is part of the challenge. We have already experienced similar environments in Sociedad and Slavia Prague. Here in Turkey, 50,000 supporters can fill the stadium,” he concluded.
