Police take 'exceptional measures' for match against Fenerbahçe

OTHER Shootings in the Anderlecht municipality are causing massive police deployment, yet there are still enough men to secure the high-risk match against Fenerbahçe. “These problems are not a reason to cancel events,” stated police commissioner Philippe Boucar.
“We have taken exceptional security measures,” Boucar says. “The police will be present at all critical points, including in the metro stations.” Metro stations that Turkish fans are not allowed to use, by the way. Turkish supporters are required to travel through Brussels by bus combi. “If UEFA had not approved this measure, the match would have been played without Turkish fans.”
