OTHER In a convincing raid against Charleroi, Nilson Angulo proved his qualities as more than just a substitute. However, the 21-year-old winger, who is seen as a promising player, still needs to work on his maturity and consistency. David Hubert stressed that Angulo needs to bring more regularity to his performances and improve his defensive switching. Anderlecht's technical team is actively talking with Angulo to help him better determine when to deploy his dangerous actions.
His speed and dribbling skills are undeniable and can be crucial in matches, the coach said.
Angulo has since emerged as the natural replacement for Francis Amuzu within the squad because of similar qualities. The arrival of Elyess Dao is seen more as a long-term project, as Dao is not yet as advanced in his development as Angulo. Competition with Cesar Huerta will challenge Angulo to raise his level.
The young Ecuadorian is becoming more comfortable in Belgium and his command of the English language is steadily improving. A recent visit from his mother during the match against Fenerbahçe has also given him an emotional boost, which may help his motivation and performance.
