Leoni: “Sights set on next games”

GAMES Theo Leoni also expressed his disappointment about missing the European qualification. He referred especially to the failures against Plzen and Hoffenheim. “We failed in those two games, although against Fenerbahçe we showed a strong mentality. We fell behind quickly but the interruption (due to an incident with the fans, ed.) provided an opportunity to adjust tactics. The players were instructed to shoot more on goal and pass the ball faster.”


Leoni felt a glimmer of hope when his team made it 2-1, but it was short-lived due to an equalizer by the Turks from a standard situation. “Nevertheless, I am optimistic. We now set our sights primarily on the upcoming match against Union and, of course, the cup final in May.”
