OTHER Jan-Carlo Simic sees that the team has had both highs and lows this season. Nevertheless, he believes the team can achieve something in the Champions Playoffs and the Belgian Cup final. Since his arrival at the club, Simic feels he is an important player: ‘I have learned a lot and gained a lot of experience by playing every three days,' he echoes.

‘Because of my grown self-confidence, my decision-making on the pitch has improved,' he continued.

He is currently the most used player in the squad, something he did not expect at the time of his transfer: ‘But I respect the tactical choices of the coach, who occasionally puts him on the bench.'

Simic possesses an innate fighting mentality: ‘I constantly stay focused and strive to be seen as a key player in the team. Because of my attacking background, I also know how to be dangerous in the opponent's penalty area.'

Finally, he highlights the valuable advice he has received from Jan Vertonghen. Simic still hopes to be in the team with Vertonghen this season. ‘I also admire his excellent passing,' he concluded.
