INTERVIEWS The press conference of Besnik Hasi, the new head coach of RSC Anderlecht, attracted a lot of interest. The team is preparing for a crucial game against Club Brugge, and expectations are high. Hasi noted that the players are enthusiastic and motivated, despite the absence of some internationals. “I want to see grinta and combativity in every match like during training sessions,” Hasi said.

The new coach stressed the importance of good organization within the team. “I aim to play attacking and quality soccer, without losing sight of the organization. It is essential that everyone understands how we want to play, regardless of the lineup,” he added.

It is often said that Anderlecht lacks leadership, especially in the absence of Jan Vertonghen. Hasi put these concerns into perspective: “Every team lacks leaders when things go badly. There is enough experience in this group. With a new coach also come new opportunities for players to make their mark. But it is important that we act as a team.”

In the coming weeks, important matches are scheduled in the Champions Playoffs. Hasi is looking forward to these challenges: “I prefer these high-level matches. That way we immediately know where we stand.” He hopes to see training results already in the game against Bruges.

Finally, Hasi was asked if he has become less demanding. “Never,” he replied with a laugh. “The way I communicate my demands may have changed, but my expectations remain high.”
