INTERVIEWS After another disappointing game in Bruges, some players and coach Hasi spoke to the press. As always, there is disappointment, but the players just don't seem to learn from their mistakes, Colin Coosemans also admitted.

“It was a bad first half. Again. We still face the same problems as our last match here,” the Anderlecht goalkeeper began. He said his team played perfectly into Club Brugge's hands by bringing too little depth and asking for the ball in the foot while Brugge plays very close to the man in the build-up. Coosemans added that the players must be questioning themselves after the two coach resignations. In an interview the goalkeeper gave a little later, his story sounded a little more optimistic. Coosemans said that everyone realizes that the level has to go up and that the trainer was not satisfied.

Hasi himself had no trouble admitting that the first half was bad “You know you can expect grinta and pressure here. Then you have to be able to counter that with something.”. He lamented the lack of daring in the game and as much as Hasi saw things improve a bit after halftime, he likewise knew it was over after the second goal. Yet he also cited extenuating circumstances, such as the recent return of Dolberg and Verschaeren. Huerta was also only able to train once after his stay in America.

Dendoncker was the next to come and explain. He realized that by losing immediately, Anderlecht's chances of making something out of it had melted away. Dendoncker did not want to know about excuses related to different tactical guidelines and the lack of time due to the international break. “The impotence is hard to explain, we have a whole new system and philosophy,” Dendoncker said. He concluded that the players want to finish the season in the best possible way and are trying their best to improve every week.
