U13 finish second at tournament in the Netherlands

YOUTH Two weeks after their participation in an international tournament in Portugal, Anderlecht's U13 team was once again on the starting line abroad last weekend. This time they traveled to the Netherlands for a prestigious competition. After a respectable sixth place in the Algarve, the youngsters performed even better in Utrecht by reaching the final, where they unfortunately lost to local FC Utrecht.


The start of the International Spring Tournament 2025 was somewhat difficult for the Anderlecht boys, with a 0-0 draw against Club Brugge and a narrow defeat against Ajax.

However, after these disappointments they shifted up a gear with convincing victories against Lille and Bayer Leverkusen. With these strong performances, they secured first place in their pool, which led to qualification for the final.

In the final, FC Utrecht proved just a little too strong for the Anderlecht U13. They lost 1-0. Nevertheless, the team's overall performance was quite good. Purple and White finished second, above Ajax, who had won the tournament in Portugal two weeks earlier.

A particular highlight was the outstanding performance of young Joshua Coveliers, who was named best player of the tournament.

The results of the group stage were as follows:
Anderlecht - Club Brugge: 0-0
Anderlecht - Ajax: 0-1
Anderlecht - Lille: 2-0
Anderlecht - Bayer Leverkusen: 3-1
Anderlecht - Focus'07: 5-0
With these results, Anderlecht finished with 10 points and a goal difference of +8, which earned them first place in their pool.
