Anderlecht offensively very weak

OTHER Anderlecht shows dramatic offensive numbers in the Champions' Playoffs and is the least performing team. The team has the lowest number of crosses to goal (6 versus 12 for Brugge) and fewer than six shots per game (versus 18 for Brugge). This results in the lowest number of expected goals (Brugge scores three more times), indicating a lack of quality chances.


Build-up from the defense is also problematic, with only 63 attacks reaching the final third of the field, of which only 11 resulted in a shot. Union reaches 98. Anderlecht also reached the penalty area only eight times; Brugge more than twice as many.

The only Anderlecht player in the top 20 of passes toward the opponent is Nilson Angulo in 16th place. Passes into the enemy sixteen are mostly for Hazard at eleven. He too is the only Anderlecht player in the top 20 for that statistic.
