Hasi receives only reprimand

OTHER Besnik Hasi has been reprimanded by the Belgian Football Federation's Disciplinary Council for Professional Football for criticizing referees. Hasi voiced that criticism while he was still coach of KV Mechelen.


The reprimand means that while Hasi was found guilty of making excessive criticism, no immediate suspension followed. It was only pronounced with a delay to send a signal to all trainers that such statements are not acceptable.

Due to the lack of clear guidelines on what may and may not be said, the federal prosecutor's office also prosecuted similar cases little or not at all in the past. The right to free speech was also taken into account.
