Heavy defeat Futures; no new Brussels derby

1B The RSCA Futures took another heavy defeat on the final day of play in 1B. They got four goals from Beveren at home. Their position was already determined before this day, namely fourth-last. Vanhoutte also dropped out. The Futures end the season just like the A-team: with quite some injury problems.


There will be no new Brussels derby for the time being. RWDM seemed to be on its way to first the title and then direct promotion, but it came to nothing in the last minutes. The Brussels neighbors will have to try to work their way up to 1A via the play-offs. In the direct duel for the title they did however perform well against Zulte Waregem. They had quite a few chances and erased a home team lead in minute 69. However, in the absolute end Jelle Vossen gave the West Flemish the title (2-1). And direct promotion also fell through in injury time: rival La Louvière won thanks to a goal in the 92nd minute and is the second direct promoter to accompany champion Zulte Waregem to 1A.
