RSCA Futures could get relegated next season

The Pro League has revoked the decision that reserve teams could not be relegated. From next season the RSCA Futures can therefore drop to the First Amateur Division, so given this season's poor showing this is something to take into serious account during the transfer window. With this move the Pro League avoids a €12 million fine, although the top clubs were unhappy about it. Reserve teams could indeed be relegated, but then another reserve side would have to be promoted so that the total number of reserve teams would be preserved. Read more »

De Cat at No 1 in Het Nieuwsblad's Talent Top 50

Nathan De Cat is number one in the new edition of Het Nieuwsblad's Talent Top 50. Anderlecht is well represented with seven players, but it cannot match Club Brugge (eleven) and Racing Genk (nine). Notable: 14?year?old Cresus Kana makes a debut in the list and immediately lands at number 17. Kalonji Extends Contract Until 2028

17-year-old Noah Kalonji has extended his expiring contract at Anderlecht by two years. The defensive midfielder, who is representing Belgium at the U17 European Championship, is now tied to the club until 2028. "Noah is a player with a modern profile who, thanks to his game intelligence, physical strength and build-up qualities, can play in several positions in midfield," the club said. Official: Sibierski is the new Sporting Director

As expected, 51-year-old Frenchman Antoine Sibierski has been appointed Anderlecht's new Sporting Director. He will take the reins of sporting policy across all professional teams and will also oversee the scouting and performance departments (first team, Futures and Women). Sibierski played as an attacking midfielder for Auxerre, Nantes and Lens, and later in England for Manchester City, Newcastle and Wigan. Futures finish the season with a 5-0 win

RSCA Futures closed a difficult season on a high with a 5-0 win over Olympic Charleroi, the bottom club in the Challenger Pro League. The Futures thus finish a disappointing fourteenth, although they are still ten points clear of second-bottom Club NXT. Thanks to the league's rules, Anderlecht was never in real danger of relegation — relegation would have required another U23 club to go up, which did not occur. Futures lose Brussels derby to RWDM

RSCA Futures lost 2-1 at RWDM on Saturday. The Molenbeek neighbours took the lead after 21 minutes through Maurer. Just after the hour mark Terry Van den Ven levelled the scores, but RWDM snatched victory late on when Simbakoli struck. U23 teams can relegate next season

Under pressure from a ruling by the Belgian Competition Authority, the Pro League has adjusted the rules for U23 teams in 1B. From next season they will also be eligible for relegation. This season, however, remains unchanged. Any U23 side that is relegated must be replaced by another U23 team promoted from the amateur divisions, ensuring that four development teams remain active at the country's second professional level. RSCA Futures racked up a comprehensive victory this evening against their age-mates from Club Brugge. After an early red card for Club NXT player Garcia, the purple-and-white youngsters found the net five times. Substitute Terry Van de Ven struck twice, while Angély, De Ridder and N'Dao also scored. Tajaouart leads Futures to important win

In a clash between two under-23 sides, RSCA Futures beat Jong Genk this evening. Early goals from Pape N'Dao and Anas Tajaouart quickly put the Futures 2-0 up, and Genk spending most of the match with ten men also played into their hands. With a superb through ball, Tajaouart set N'Dao on his way to the opener within minutes; shortly afterwards Genk's Kim was sent off for a heavy tackle. RSCA Futures finally returned to winning ways after taking just two points from their previous four matches. The Futures, who played the final half hour with ten men, won 2-1 at Seraing. Anderlecht looks set to get young Frenchman Mathys Angély (18), according to Sacha Tavolieri. Angély is a left-footed centre-back who is on Wolfsburg's books. Anderlecht doesn't allow Tajaouart to leave to France

French second-division side Amiens approached Anderlecht about Anas Tajaouart but was rebuffed, transfer journalist Sacha Tavolieri reports. Amiens wanted to take Tajaouart on loan until the end of the season, but the Purple-and-White are not prepared to let the young midfielder go. The 20-year-old Tajaouart has been one of the stalwarts of the Futures for about two years and serves as their captain. He was promoted to the first-team squad last year and, although regularly included in matchday selections, has so far only made two appearances — a brief substitution in Europe against Häcken and a short cup appearance against Ninove.
