GAMES Anderlecht got no further than 0-0 against Antwerp in a weak game. It took until the closing stages of the second half until Anderlecht finally got a few chances, but Lammens saved well. Anderlecht, which keeps on sputtering offensively, was also lucky that Antwerp played a couple of opportunities sloppily. Wednesday will see another important game against rival Gent.

Anderlecht and Antwerp served up a weak first half with little to see. Both clubs produced a few shots from distance, but there were no real big chances.

Dolberg performed well as a target man, but as a result there was obviously no one left to take his place. Edozie and Angulo could not push forward enough, just like an invisible Verschaeren. So again, no real chance for Anderlecht, which only seemed to be able to be a bit dangerous through corners. Antwerp played well, but couldn't create any real chances either.

Anderlecht started the second half better by playing faster. Edozie was more present, but we didn't see any real chances yet. Antwerp waited for the right moment and an attentive Coosemans was needed to intervene a couple of times.

The substitute Huerta had a header chance, but the Mexican touched the ball completely wrong. By then, however, we were in minute 82. Antwerp still had a final offensive in which they could have scored. Lammens kept Antwerp straight several times, however. Hazard had the biggest chance. He was sent deep by Maamar and kicked well, but Lammens saved strongly. After that, Lammens was also attentive on an attempt by Dendoncker and again on a shot by Hazard.

Anderlecht did not get any further and so it remained a feeble 0-0. Wednesday will see a (last?) second chance against Gent, because after that, they will have to visit their rivals for fourth place.
