OTHER Besnik Hasi had to wait a little longer for his first victory in his second period as Anderlecht coach. It didn't work out against Antwerp either. “Too bad the chances didn't go in at the end. It could have liberated the team,” the coach said.

“You could clearly see that this afternoon two teams played against each other who are in lesser form and have little confidence,” Hasi said. “In the first half, there was little pace on the ball. Our intention was to create an overtime in midfield, but we played too slow to take advantage of that. On the flanks, our intention was to let Edozie and Angulo come man-to-man, but the last pass was not good.”

Hasi noted that some guys were struggling physically, and by switching he tried to address that. “The substitutes brought new energy,” the coach said. Thorgan Hazard in particular showed as a substitute. “This was the Thorgan we want to see,” Hasi said.

So Hasi wants to remember positive things after today. “Workpower and effort were good. In the previous matches we also always got a goal against and didn't score. Now we keep the zero and do create chances. I also see progress on training. The important thing now is to take those positives to the matches, starting Wednesday. The way we played the last twenty minutes today, that's how I want to see Anderlecht play for ninety minutes.”
