INTERVIEWS Just three days after the match against Antwerp, Anderlecht has to play again today. Then it will receive AA Gent at the Lotto Park. “These will be two crucial matches to reach our goal of fourth place,” said coach Besnik Hasi.

Hasi wants to build on the end of the match against Antwerp. That's when the intensity was suddenly there. “I want more. Against Genk we could do it from the beginning and for 20 minutes. Against Antwerp it was at the end. We wanted to play higher and faster, but it didn't work,” the coach said.

Hasi already changed field positions in recent games. Today we don't have to expect much news right away. “I don't have much time between games to think of new things,” he said. “But the system is not the most important thing for me. In our offensive patterns, we did change things sometimes because we had to appear in front of goal more often. We didn't create enough chances.”

The latter, among other things, is causing growing dissatisfaction among (some of) the supporters. “I can understand that. We need to play better and get better results. I'm not looking for excuses, but we have a lot of players who are or have been injured. It's not easy to build automatisms like that. Other players are then out of shape again or lack confidence. We have to be able to win a game to gain confidence.”

We did fill in well Sunday, though, was Thorgan Hazard. “I hope he can play ninety minutes like that. I had a good talk last week, from which I gathered that he needs to find the joy of playing again. He was trying to force things. Thorgan has worked hard to come back after his injury, but is still looking for his best form. I think his performance on Sunday can give him confidence.”
