Dendoncker: “We can still do better”

INTERVIEWS Leander Dendoncker was the match winner for Anderlecht in Gent. He played a crucial role by assisting the defense, but also scored the only goal of the match, his third of the season. “It feels good to score this kind of goal,” the midfielder said. Dendoncker dedicated his goal to his wife and two children, emphasizing the importance of his family in his career.


Despite an earlier 5-0 victory against the same opponent, Anderlecht still struggled at times. However, the exclusion of Samoise made the task easier. The victory already provides a confidence boost ahead of the Cup final against Bruges. Dendoncker stressed the importance of optimal preparation and estimated the odds at “50-50.”

“Considering we haven't really been consistent in the league, this final is the most important game of the season for us. We are determined to prepare as well as possible for Sunday,” he concluded.
