Plans for new stadium from under the dust

OTHER Anderlecht eventually wants to build a new multifunctional stadium, preferably in Anderlecht itself. The Cora site, near the Brussels Ring Road and close to the practice complex in Neerpede, is the most promising location. The club has expressed its interest, but there are still many obstacles, such as acquiring the land (owned by investor Mitiska REIM) and going through lengthy permit procedures.

Chairman Vandenhaute emphasizes that there is no rush: the Lotto Park will continue to serve well for the time being and the club is just emerging from financial difficulties.

In the future, however, they want a stadium that is also suitable for concerts and events. Some of the financing should come from external parties, as with the Johan Cruijff ArenA in Amsterdam (and contrary to what Club Brugge is planning).

Anderlecht is also planning a new training complex for the A team, the Futures and the women's team. The mayor of Anderlecht reacted positively to the plans and sees opportunities to keep the club on the territory and create additional jobs.

By the way, an expansion of the current stadium is also a slope still on the table, but that option is probably even more complex.
