OTHER The Futsal playoffs, usually a highlight of the year, are in danger of fading into the shadows due to organizational shortcomings. The current situation is regularly characterized by impossible playing schedules, raising questions among fans, clubs, players and policymakers. Back in December 2022, criticism was voiced about the late start times of matches, which often begin around 9:15 or 9:30 p.m. It was suggested then that games should be played earlier in the evening, but the practice is different.

Recently the match between Soumagne and RSCA even started at 21:45 and the duel between Soumagne and Antwerp no less than 22:15. Lieven Baert, manager of RSCA Futsal, expresses his concern: "It is not normal for the matches to start so late. We had fewer supporters than usual, which is understandable. After all, the fans weren't home until two in the morning."

The cause is often the availability of the venue. Baert emphasizes that the current situation is not a good advertisement for the sport and calls for adjustments in starting times. "Our matches start at 8:30 p.m., a normal starting time, right?"
