OTHER Ex-Anderlecht player Lior Refaelov is retiring from soccer after a 20-year career. The 39-year-old Israeli midfielder played the past few seasons with Maccabi Haifa in his home country.
Refaelov came to Anderlecht in 2021 after winning the Golden Shoe at Antwerp. For Anderlecht, Refaelov scored 23 times in two seasons, including in Europe and in the Croky Cup. Unfortunately, he did not manage to get a prize there. Before joining Anderlecht, Refaelov played in Belgium for Club Brugge and for Antwerp. For both Club Brugge and Antwerp, Refaelov scored a decisive goal in the final of the Croky Cup.
