RSCA Women lose title on final matchday

DAMES The RSCA Women failed to become champions for the eighth time in a row. OHL won 2-0 from Anderlecht on the last matchday. Because OHL finished the regular competition as the leader, it is champion.


OHL had to win and it took the lead after only 15 minutes through Eurlings, even though the visitors started the match strongest. Anderlecht certainly came close to the equalizer several times before halftime, but failed in finishing, partly due to the efforts of Seynhaeve, OHL's strong goalkeeper. After halftime, Anderlecht began to take more and more risks, creating space for the Leuveners. After missing several chances, De Ceuster doubled the score in minute 88. There was nothing Anderlecht could do about this double deficit. OHL, Anderlecht's big rival for years, is champion of the Women Super League for the first time.

The two loss matches against OHL hurt Anderlecht in these play-offs, because the Women won both their games against Standard and Club YLA. With the loss in the cup final and losing the title just before the finish line, it's a season for the RSCA Women to quickly forget.
