OTHER Joren Dom put an end to his career after a season with RSCA Futures, but this season he was struck by the talent of Ibrahim Kanaté, who arrived in January. The Malian has adapted directly to Anderlecht,” he says, ”and has been a direct addition to the group".
A one-on-one player, Kanate eliminates opponents with his technique and explosiveness. His speed means he's often on the lookout for depth. He's uninhibited in any situation,” adds Dom, ”but he needs to improve his finishing.
The Malian has plenty of room for improvement, especially in terms of on-field discipline and tactics. He hadn't played against adults before arriving at RSCA, so his body still needs to get used to it. This led to a muscle tear which spoiled his end of season.
Dom concludes by declaring that he will certainly get some playing time with the first team next season, and that he can quickly become a public darling, even if he still has some way to go.
