OTHER What has been circulating in the media for several days has now been officially confirmed by Anderlecht: the club will continue with Besnik Hasi as head coach. “We have talked to each other frequently. Those talks showed that the coach's analysis and intentions are in line with those of the management,” Anderlecht said.
In March, Hasi signed a contract until the end of this season. That agreement included an option for an extended stay of indefinite duration. The club has now lifted that option.
“Besnik got to know the player group thoroughly,” said sporting director Olivier Renard. “There were frequent conversations during and after the playoffs. Those conversations showed that the coach's analysis and intentions are in line with those of the sporting management. There is work to be done. Besnik knows the players, the league and the club's expectations and now gets the chance to continue his work. With full preparation and in a renewed dynamic.”
Hasi says he is very happy to stay with Anderlecht. “In recent weeks I have been able to experience from the front row what goes well and what goes less well. I want to use that knowledge, together with the sporting directors, to take the necessary steps towards next season,” the coach said. “I look forward to continuing my work.”
