OTHER Time for yet another change at the top of Anderlecht. CEO Non Sports Kenneth Bornauw has announced his departure, according to Het Nieuwsblad. Bornauw's period at Anderlecht can certainly be called a success.
Bornauw, the father of former player Sebastiaan, knew Anderlecht well. He brought his commercial experience from Microsoft and Unilever. Despite the fact that sporting achievements remained less in recent years, Anderlecht had a successful period in terms of sales and marketing. Think of the framing of the matches and the match experience in the Lotto Park, the sale of season tickets, and the renovation of the youth center for the youngest players. Bornauw was employed by Anderlecht for three years.
Bornauw: “We have made great strides for the Anderlecht brand to grow the club. The financial base has become broader and the commercial results are making progress. I am proud of the team with which we have achieved this.”
Bornauw feels the time has come to take on a new challenge. He will, however, remain in post to ensure a smooth transition after his departure. It is not known who will take over Bornauw's position. Tim Borguet was recently named CEO Sports, even though he has a primarily commercial background.
