OTHER Pierre Leroy, a remarkable figure in Anderlecht's history, has passed away. Leroy was the club's delegate no less than from 1983 to 2007, filling in Anderlecht's match sheet more than 1,200 times.
Through his long track record, Leroy experienced great successes, but also the lesser periods. Even after he stopped as délége, Leroy remained closely involved with Purple White where everyone knew him. For example, he was still in charge of the fleet until 2018. Leroy was much loved by the players because they knew they could confide in him.
Leroy did have a hard time leaving Anderlecht and began to suffer with his health a few years ago. However, he still saw friends from his time at Anderlecht regularly. Leroy died in his sleep. Ex-manager Herman Van Holsbeeck reacted by saying, among other things, that Leroy gave his whole life for Anderlecht.
Our sincere condolences to the family, friends and acquaintances.
