INTERVIEWS In La Dernière Heure, Antoine Colassin looks back on his first season at Beerschot. The fact that he failed to break through at Anderlecht is also discussed. “The step to another club did me good. It was important to realize that not everyone can succeed at Anderlecht.”

After eight years at Anderlecht, Colassin closed the Neerpede door behind him last summer. He went to Beerschot. With six goals and seven assists in 28 games, he personally did not have a bad season, but it was insufficient to avoid relegation.

Colassin realizes it did him good to breathe different air. “But I will always be an Anderlecht man,” he explained. “I was formed there, but it was important to go my own way and realize that not everyone can succeed at Anderlecht.”

The LDH journalist cites that many young people who leave Anderlecht look for excuses and Colassin does not. “Anderlecht has given me a lot. The blame lies with both, you have to put yourself over that. I would never say a negative word about Anderlecht. It's easy to get into the victim role. But I'm not interested in that and besides, it's not the truth.”
